Presentation Title: Profiling the Database Writer and Log Writer
Speaker: Mr Frits Hoogland Oracle ACE Director OakTable
Company: Enkitec
Presentation abstract: Most of the time, the foreground or shadow process is traced to understand what the composition of the response time is. However, when doing (batch) DML, both the logwriter and databasewriter are key processes for the overall response time. To gain understanding of these processes, tracing gives an insight into what they are doing. The goal of this presentation to show the common events for these processes, including a detailed explanation what these mean, and how the interaction with the operating system works.
